How to get above the fray and take a long view of leadership

When you get to a certain level, there is no rubric to fill in.

I don't know if you've found this out yet but I'm guessing that you may have discovered that when you get to a certain level, there is no rubric to fill in. If you've been a go-getter, an achiever, especially someone who people can count on. Maybe you're the finisher, the responsible one, the one who can be relied on to 'get 'er done'. Maybe you've got that great skill of knowing what people want before they ask.

You may be expert at doing what is expected of you but when you get into a leadership role you need to see that you are responsible for creating the rubric. You set the expectations, You get to step out of the 'get it right' dynamic and create from a director's point of view.

How to get above the fray and take a long view of leadership? Integrity.
Your secret weapon, integrity. Acting from our integrity creates a responsive place to see your team, individuals, the project, solutions and opportunities as players on the board. Your awareness broadens and deepens to a new level. Wholehearted Leadership is a place that asks for creativity, curiosity and a willingness to get comfortable with the uncomfortable and unknown.
